سُوْرَةُ الصَّافَّاتِ
Surah As-Saaffaat (37) — Ayah 107
وَفَدَيْنَـٰهُ بِذِبْحٍ عَظِيمٍ ﴿107﴾

And We ransomed him with a great sacrifice (i.e. كبش - a ram);

17. 1. This great sacrifice was a ram that Allah sent from Paradise through Jibreel ؑ (Ibn Kathir). It was slaughtered in place of Isma'il ؑ, and then the Sunnah of Ibrahim was made, until the Day of Judgment, a means of attaining nearness to Allah and the most beloved act of Eid al-Adha.
