سُوْرَةُ يٰسٓ
Surah Yaseen (36) — Ayah 36
سُبْحَـٰنَ ٱلَّذِى خَلَقَ ٱلْأَزْوَٰجَ كُلَّهَا مِمَّا تُنۢبِتُ ٱلْأَرْضُ وَمِنْ أَنفُسِهِمْ وَمِمَّا لَا يَعْلَمُونَ ﴿36﴾

Glory be to Him Who has created all the pairs of that which the earth produces, as well as of their own (human) kind (male and female), and of that which they know not.

Tafsir Ahsan al-Bayan — Hafiz Salahuddin Yusuf

36. 1. That is, just as among humans, in every produce of the earth We have created both male and female. Moreover, in the heavens and in the depths of the earth, there are also things hidden from you, of which you have no knowledge, in which We have established this system of pairs (male and female). Thus, all creation is in pairs; in plants too, this same system of male and female exists. Even the life of the Hereafter is, in a sense, a pair to the life of this world, and this is also a rational proof for the life of the Hereafter. Only the Being of Allah is free from the attribute of being created and all other shortcomings. He is (single), not a pair.
