Tafsir Ahsan al-Bayan is a well-known Quran commentary by Hafiz Salahuddin Yusuf, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. This tafsir explains the meanings of the Quran in accordance with the methodology of the Salaf (early righteous generations), relying on authentic sources and straightforward language. Due to its reliability and adherence to sound Islamic scholarship, the Saudi government publishes and distributes this tafsir among the Hujjaj (pilgrims) visiting the Haramain. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

14. 1. That is, if you call upon them in times of hardship, they do not hear your call at all, because they are inanimate objects, idols made of stone.
14. 2. That is, even if, hypothetically, they were to hear, it would be useless, because they cannot fulfill your needs according to your supplications.
14. 3. Because no one possesses such perfect knowledge. Only He is fully aware of the reality of all matters, which includes the helplessness of those being called upon, their inability to hear the call, and their denial of it on the Day of Resurrection.
