And when Our Clear Verses are recited to them, they say: "This (Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم) is naught but a man who wishes to hinder you from that which your fathers used to worship." And they say: "This (the Qur’ân) is nothing but an invented lie." And those who disbelieve say of the truth when it has come to them (i.e. Prophet Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم when Allâh sent him as a Messenger with proofs, evidence, verses of this Qur’ân, lessons, signs, etc.): "This is nothing but evident magic!"

Tafsir Ahsan al-Bayan is a well-known Quran commentary by Hafiz Salahuddin Yusuf, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. This tafsir explains the meanings of the Quran in accordance with the methodology of the Salaf (early righteous generations), relying on authentic sources and straightforward language. Due to its reliability and adherence to sound Islamic scholarship, the Saudi government publishes and distributes this tafsir among the Hujjaj (pilgrims) visiting the Haramain. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

43. 1. By "person" is meant the Prophet ﷺ. The religion of their forefathers was correct in their view, so they described your ﷺ "crime" as wanting to prevent them from those deities whom their ancestors used to worship.
43. 2. By this second ھٰذَا is meant the Noble Quran; they declared it to be a fabricated slander or an invented lie.
34. 3. First, they called the Quran an invented lie, and here, clear magic. The first relates to the meaning and content of the Quran, and the second relates to the miraculous structure, style, and eloquence of the Quran.
