يَـٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ ٱتَّقُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ وَقُولُوا۟ قَوْلًا سَدِيدًا ﴿70﴾
O you who believe! Keep your duty to Allâh and fear Him, and speak (always) the truth.
يَـٰٓأَيُّهَا yāayyuhā O you who believe
ٱلَّذِينَ alladhīna O you who believe
ءَامَنُوا۟ āmanū O you who believe
ٱتَّقُوا۟ ittaqū Fear
ٱللَّهَ l-laha Allah
وَقُولُوا۟ waqūlū and speak
قَوْلًۭا qawlan a word
سَدِيدًۭا sadīdan right

70. 1. That is, a statement in which there is no crookedness or deviation, nor deceit or fraud. Rather, it should be truth and right, meaning just as an arrow is straightened so that it hits the target accurately, in the same way, the words that come from your tongue and your character should be based on uprightness, with not even the slightest deviation from truth and honesty.
