Tafsir Ahsan al-Bayan is a well-known Quran commentary by Hafiz Salahuddin Yusuf, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. This tafsir explains the meanings of the Quran in accordance with the methodology of the Salaf (early righteous generations), relying on authentic sources and straightforward language. Due to its reliability and adherence to sound Islamic scholarship, the Saudi government publishes and distributes this tafsir among the Hujjaj (pilgrims) visiting the Haramain. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

67. 1. That is, instead of following Your prophets and callers to the religion, we followed our own elders and great ones, but today we have realized that they kept us away from Your prophets and led us astray from the right path. Ancestor worship and imitation of foreigners are still causes of misguidance for people today. If only Muslims would reflect on the divine verses and come out of these bypaths, and adopt the straight path of the Quran and Hadith, for salvation lies only and only in following Allah and His Messenger, not in imitating the elders and great ones or adopting the outdated ways of forefathers.
