Tafsir Ahsan al-Bayan is a well-known Quran commentary by Hafiz Salahuddin Yusuf, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. This tafsir explains the meanings of the Quran in accordance with the methodology of the Salaf (early righteous generations), relying on authentic sources and straightforward language. Due to its reliability and adherence to sound Islamic scholarship, the Saudi government publishes and distributes this tafsir among the Hujjaj (pilgrims) visiting the Haramain. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

57. 1 The meaning of harming Allah is to commit those actions which He dislikes, otherwise, who is capable of causing harm to Allah? For example, those who ascribe offspring to Him, such as the polytheists, Jews, and Christians. Or as mentioned in the Hadith Qudsi, Allah says, "The son of Adam harms Me, he curses time, whereas I am time; the alternation of night and day is by My command." (Sahih Bukhari) That is, to say that time or the crooked-moving heavens have done this is not correct, because the actions are Allah's, not those of time or the heavens. To harm the Messenger of Allah means to deny him, to call him a poet, liar, magician, etc. Furthermore, in some ahadith, harming the noble Companions and belittling or insulting them has also been considered as harm to the Prophet. The meaning of curse is to be distant and deprived from the mercy of Allah.
