Tafsir Ahsan al-Bayan is a well-known Quran commentary by Hafiz Salahuddin Yusuf, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. This tafsir explains the meanings of the Quran in accordance with the methodology of the Salaf (early righteous generations), relying on authentic sources and straightforward language. Due to its reliability and adherence to sound Islamic scholarship, the Saudi government publishes and distributes this tafsir among the Hujjaj (pilgrims) visiting the Haramain. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

3-1. Muhsineen is the plural of Muhsin. Its first meaning is one who does ihsan (does good) — with parents, relatives, the deserving, and the needy. The second meaning is one who does good deeds, that is, one who avoids evil and is righteous. The third meaning is one who worships Allah with utmost sincerity, humility, and devotion. As mentioned in the Hadith of Jibreel: "an ta‘bud Allah ka’annaka taraahu." The Quran, although it is a source of guidance and mercy for all the worlds, the real benefit from it is only taken by the Muhsineen and the Muttaqeen, therefore it is mentioned in this way here.
