نُمَتِّعُهُمْ قَلِيلًا ثُمَّ نَضْطَرُّهُمْ إِلَىٰ عَذَابٍ غَلِيظٍ ﴿24﴾
We let them enjoy for a little while, then in the end We shall oblige them to (enter) a great torment.
نُمَتِّعُهُمْ numattiʿuhum We grant them enjoyment
قَلِيلًۭا qalīlan (for) a little
ثُمَّ thumma then
نَضْطَرُّهُمْ naḍṭarruhum We will force them
إِلَىٰ ilā to
عَذَابٍ ʿadhābin a punishment
غَلِيظٍۢ ghalīẓin severe

24-1. That is, how long will they remain in this world and to what extent will they continue to enjoy its pleasures and blessings? This world and its pleasures are only for a few days; after that, there is nothing but severe punishment upon punishment for them.
