And there are, certainly, among the people of the Scripture (Jews and Christians), those who believe in Allâh and in that which has been revealed to you, and in that which has been revealed to them, humbling themselves before Allâh. They do not sell the Verses of Allâh for a little price, for them is a reward with their Lord. Surely, Allâh is Swift in account.

Tafsir Ahsan al-Bayan is a well-known Quran commentary by Hafiz Salahuddin Yusuf, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. This tafsir explains the meanings of the Quran in accordance with the methodology of the Salaf (early righteous generations), relying on authentic sources and straightforward language. Due to its reliability and adherence to sound Islamic scholarship, the Saudi government publishes and distributes this tafsir among the Hujjaj (pilgrims) visiting the Haramain. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

199. 1. In this verse, mention is made of that group among the People of the Book who were honored to believe in the Messenger ﷺ. By mentioning their faith and qualities of faith, Allah Almighty distinguished them from the other People of the Book, whose very mission was to conspire against Islam, the Prophet of Islam, and the Muslims, to distort and alter the divine verses, and to do so for temporary and fleeting worldly interests. Allah Almighty said that these believing People of the Book are not like that; rather, they are those who fear Allah and do not sell the verses of Allah for a small price. Hafiz Ibn Kathir has written that the believing People of the Book mentioned in the verse, the number of Jews among them did not even reach ten, but a large number of Christians became Muslim and adopted the true religion.
