Tafsir Ahsan al-Bayan is a well-known Quran commentary by Hafiz Salahuddin Yusuf, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. This tafsir explains the meanings of the Quran in accordance with the methodology of the Salaf (early righteous generations), relying on authentic sources and straightforward language. Due to its reliability and adherence to sound Islamic scholarship, the Saudi government publishes and distributes this tafsir among the Hujjaj (pilgrims) visiting the Haramain. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

181. 1. When Allah Almighty encouraged the believers to spend in the way of Allah and said (مَنْ ذَا الَّذِيْ يُقْرِضُ اللّٰهَ قَرْضًا حَسَنًا) 57:11 Who is it that will lend to Allah a goodly loan! the Jews said, "O Muhammad ﷺ, has your Lord become poor that He is asking His servants for a loan?" Upon this, Allah Almighty revealed this verse.

181. 2. That is, the aforementioned statement in which there is disrespect towards Allah, and likewise their (ancestors') unjust killing of the Prophets (peace be upon them), all their crimes are recorded in the presence of Allah, for which they will be entered into the fire of Hell.
