Surah Aal-i-Imraan (3) — Ayah 171

۞ يَسْتَبْشِرُونَ بِنِعْمَةٍ مِّنَ ٱللَّهِ وَفَضْلٍ وَأَنَّ ٱللَّهَ لَا يُضِيعُ أَجْرَ ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ ﴿171﴾
They rejoice in a Grace and a Bounty from Allâh, and that Allâh will not waste the reward of the believers.
۞ يَسْتَبْشِرُونَ yastabshirūna They receive good tidings
بِنِعْمَةٍۢ biniʿ'matin of Favor
مِّنَ mina from
ٱللَّهِ l-lahi Allah
وَفَضْلٍۢ wafaḍlin and Bounty
وَأَنَّ wa-anna and that
ٱللَّهَ l-laha Allah
لَا (does) not
يُضِيعُ yuḍīʿu let go waste
أَجْرَ ajra (the) reward
ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ l-mu'minīna (of) the believers

171. 1. This rejoicing is an emphasis of the previous rejoicing and a statement that their happiness is not merely due to the absence of fear and grief, but also because of Allah's blessings and His boundless grace and mercy. And some commentators have said that the first happiness is related to the brothers who remain in the world, and this second happiness is due to the reward and honor that Allah, the Exalted, has bestowed upon them Himself (Fath al-Qadir).
