سُوْرَةُ اٰلِ عِمْرٰنَ

Surah Aal-i-Imraan (3) — Ayah 135

وَٱلَّذِينَ إِذَا فَعَلُوا۟ فَـٰحِشَةً أَوْ ظَلَمُوٓا۟ أَنفُسَهُمْ ذَكَرُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ فَٱسْتَغْفَرُوا۟ لِذُنُوبِهِمْ وَمَن يَغْفِرُ ٱلذُّنُوبَ إِلَّا ٱللَّهُ وَلَمْ يُصِرُّوا۟ عَلَىٰ مَا فَعَلُوا۟ وَهُمْ يَعْلَمُونَ ﴿135﴾
And those who, when they have committed Fâhishah (illegal sexual intercourse) or wronged themselves with evil, remember Allâh and ask forgiveness for their sins; - and none can forgive sins but Allâh - and do not persist in what (wrong) they have done, while they know.
وَٱلَّذِينَ wa-alladhīna And those
إِذَا idhā when
فَعَلُوا۟ faʿalū they did
فَـٰحِشَةً fāḥishatan immorality
أَوْ aw or
ظَلَمُوٓا۟ ẓalamū wronged
أَنفُسَهُمْ anfusahum themselves
ذَكَرُوا۟ dhakarū they remember
ٱللَّهَ l-laha Allah
فَٱسْتَغْفَرُوا۟ fa-is'taghfarū then ask forgiveness
لِذُنُوبِهِمْ lidhunūbihim for their sins
وَمَن waman and who
يَغْفِرُ yaghfiru (can) forgive
ٱلذُّنُوبَ l-dhunūba the sins
إِلَّا illā except
ٱللَّهُ l-lahu Allah
وَلَمْ walam And not
يُصِرُّوا۟ yuṣirrū they persist
عَلَىٰ ʿalā on
مَا what
فَعَلُوا۟ faʿalū they did
وَهُمْ wahum while they
يَعْلَمُونَ yaʿlamūna know

135. 1. That is, when due to human nature they commit any mistake or sin, they immediately hasten to repentance and seeking forgiveness.
