Surah Aal-i-Imraan (3) — Ayah 123

وَلَقَدْ نَصَرَكُمُ ٱللَّهُ بِبَدْرٍ وَأَنتُمْ أَذِلَّةٌ ۖ فَٱتَّقُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ لَعَلَّكُمْ تَشْكُرُونَ ﴿123﴾
And Allâh has already made you victorious at Badr, when you were a weak little force. So fear Allâh much that you may be grateful.
وَلَقَدْ walaqad And certainly
نَصَرَكُمُ naṣarakumu helped you
ٱللَّهُ l-lahu Allah
بِبَدْرٍۢ bibadrin in Badr
وَأَنتُمْ wa-antum while you (were)
أَذِلَّةٌۭ ۖ adhillatun weak
فَٱتَّقُوا۟ fa-ittaqū So fear
ٱللَّهَ l-laha Allah
لَعَلَّكُمْ laʿallakum so that you may
تَشْكُرُونَ tashkurūna (be) grateful

123. 1. In terms of small numbers and lack of equipment, because in the Battle of Badr the Muslims were 313 and even they were without resources. There were only two horses and seventy camels, the rest were all on foot (Ibn Kathir).
