And hold fast, all of you together, to the Rope of Allâh (i.e. this Qur’ân), and be not divided among yourselves, and remember Allâh’s Favour on you, for you were enemies one to another but He joined your hearts together, so that, by His Grace, you became brethren (in Islâmic Faith), and you were on the brink of a pit of Fire, and He saved you from it. Thus Allâh makes His Ayât (proofs, evidence, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, etc.,) clear to you, that you may be guided.

Tafsir Ahsan al-Bayan is a well-known Quran commentary by Hafiz Salahuddin Yusuf, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. This tafsir explains the meanings of the Quran in accordance with the methodology of the Salaf (early righteous generations), relying on authentic sources and straightforward language. Due to its reliability and adherence to sound Islamic scholarship, the Saudi government publishes and distributes this tafsir among the Hujjaj (pilgrims) visiting the Haramain. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

13. 1. After teaching to hold firmly to the rope of Allah after taqwa, it has been made clear that both salvation and unity are based on these two principles and can remain established upon them.
13. 2. Through "ولا تفرقوا" and "do not create division," the prohibition of sectarianism has been given. This means that if you deviate from the aforementioned two principles, discord will arise among you and you will be divided into separate sects. And from here began the tragedy of the division of the Muslim Ummah, which kept increasing day by day and became extremely entrenched.
