سُوْرَةُ الْعَنْكَبُوْتِ

Surah Al-Ankaboot (29) — Ayah 47

وَكَذَٰلِكَ أَنزَلْنَآ إِلَيْكَ ٱلْكِتَـٰبَ ۚ فَٱلَّذِينَ ءَاتَيْنَـٰهُمُ ٱلْكِتَـٰبَ يُؤْمِنُونَ بِهِۦ ۖ وَمِنْ هَـٰٓؤُلَآءِ مَن يُؤْمِنُ بِهِۦ ۚ وَمَا يَجْحَدُ بِـَٔايَـٰتِنَآ إِلَّا ٱلْكَـٰفِرُونَ ﴿47﴾
And thus We have sent down the Book (i.e. this Qur’an) to you (O Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم), and those whom We gave the Scripture [the Taurât (Torah) and the Injeel (Gospel) aforetime] believe therein as also do some of these (who are present with you now like ‘Abdullâh bin Salâm) and none but the disbelievers reject Our Ayât [(proofs, signs, verses, lessons, etc.,) and deny Our Oneness of Lordship and Our Oneness of worship and Our Oneness of Our Names and Qualities: i.e. Islâmic Monotheism].
وَكَذَٰلِكَ wakadhālika And thus
أَنزَلْنَآ anzalnā We (have) revealed
إِلَيْكَ ilayka to you
ٱلْكِتَـٰبَ ۚ l-kitāba the Book
فَٱلَّذِينَ fa-alladhīna So those
ءَاتَيْنَـٰهُمُ ātaynāhumu We gave [them]
ٱلْكِتَـٰبَ l-kitāba the Book
يُؤْمِنُونَ yu'minūna believe
بِهِۦ ۖ bihi therein
وَمِنْ wamin And among
هَـٰٓؤُلَآءِ hāulāi these
مَن man (are some) who
يُؤْمِنُ yu'minu believe
بِهِۦ ۚ bihi therein
وَمَا wamā And none
يَجْحَدُ yajḥadu reject
بِـَٔايَـٰتِنَآ biāyātinā Our Verses
إِلَّا illā except
ٱلْكَـٰفِرُونَ l-kāfirūna the disbelievers

Tafsir Ahsan al-Bayan is a well-known Quran commentary by Hafiz Salahuddin Yusuf, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. 47-1. By this is meant Abdullah bin Salam and others. By "giving of the Book" is meant acting upon it, as if those who do not act upon it, it is as though the Book was not given to them at all.

47-2. By these are meant the people of Makkah, among whom some people had embraced faith.
