Ibrâhîm (Abraham) said: "But there is Lût (Lot) in it." They said: "We know better who is there. We will verily save him [Lût (Lot)] and his family except his wife: she will be of those who remain behind (i.e. she will be destroyed along with those who will be destroyed from her folk)."

32-1. That is, We know who the wrongdoers and the believers are, and who the wicked ones are.
32-2. That is, among those who were left behind, the one who was to be destroyed through punishment was not a believing woman, but rather she was a supporter of her people. Therefore, she too was destroyed.
