وَقَالَ إِنَّمَا ٱتَّخَذْتُم مِّن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ أَوْثَـٰنًا مَّوَدَّةَ بَيْنِكُمْ فِى ٱلْحَيَوٰةِ ٱلدُّنْيَا ۖ ثُمَّ يَوْمَ ٱلْقِيَـٰمَةِ يَكْفُرُ بَعْضُكُم بِبَعْضٍ وَيَلْعَنُ بَعْضُكُم بَعْضًا وَمَأْوَىٰكُمُ ٱلنَّارُ وَمَا لَكُم مِّن نَّـٰصِرِينَ ﴿25﴾
And [Ibrâhîm (Abraham)] said: "You have taken (for worship) idols instead of Allâh. The love between you is only in the life of this world, but on the Day of Resurrection, you shall disown each other, and curse each other, and your abode will be the Fire, and you shall have no helper."
وَقَالَ waqāla And he said
إِنَّمَا innamā Only
ٱتَّخَذْتُم ittakhadhtum you have taken
مِّن min besides
دُونِ dūni besides
ٱللَّهِ l-lahi Allah
أَوْثَـٰنًۭا awthānan idols
مَّوَدَّةَ mawaddata (out of) love
بَيْنِكُمْ baynikum among you
فِى in
ٱلْحَيَوٰةِ l-ḥayati the life
ٱلدُّنْيَا ۖ l-dun'yā (of) the world
ثُمَّ thumma Then
يَوْمَ yawma (on the) Day
ٱلْقِيَـٰمَةِ l-qiyāmati (of) the Resurrection
يَكْفُرُ yakfuru you will deny
بَعْضُكُم baʿḍukum one another
بِبَعْضٍۢ bibaʿḍin one another
وَيَلْعَنُ wayalʿanu and curse
بَعْضُكُم baʿḍukum one another
بَعْضًۭا baʿḍan one another
وَمَأْوَىٰكُمُ wamawākumu and your abode
ٱلنَّارُ l-nāru (will be) the Fire
وَمَا wamā and not
لَكُم lakum for you
مِّن min any
نَّـٰصِرِينَ nāṣirīna helpers

25-1. That is, these are your powerful idols which are the foundation of your unity and mutual friendship. If you abandon their worship, the fabric of your nationhood and friendship will fall apart.

25-2. That is, on the Day of Resurrection, you will deny each other and instead of friendship, you will curse one another, and the followers will blame the leaders, and the leaders will express disassociation from the followers.
