قُلْ فَأْتُوا۟ بِكِتَـٰبٍ مِّنْ عِندِ ٱللَّهِ هُوَ أَهْدَىٰ مِنْهُمَآ أَتَّبِعْهُ إِن كُنتُمْ صَـٰدِقِينَ ﴿49﴾
Say (to them, O Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم): "Then bring a Book from Allâh, which is a better guide than these two [the Taurât (Torah) and the Qur’an], that I may follow it, if you are truthful."
قُلْ qul Say
فَأْتُوا۟ fatū Then bring
بِكِتَـٰبٍۢ bikitābin a Book
مِّنْ min from Allah
عِندِ ʿindi from Allah
ٱللَّهِ l-lahi from Allah
هُوَ huwa which
أَهْدَىٰ ahdā (is) a better guide
مِنْهُمَآ min'humā than both of them
أَتَّبِعْهُ attabiʿ'hu that I may follow it
إِن in if
كُنتُمْ kuntum you are
صَـٰدِقِينَ ṣādiqīna truthful

49-1. That is, if you are truthful in your claim that the Noble Quran and the Torah are both magic, then present another divine book which is more guiding than these, I will follow it, because I am a seeker and follower of guidance.
