Tafsir Ahsan al-Bayan is a well-known Quran commentary by Hafiz Salahuddin Yusuf, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. This tafsir explains the meanings of the Quran in accordance with the methodology of the Salaf (early righteous generations), relying on authentic sources and straightforward language. Due to its reliability and adherence to sound Islamic scholarship, the Saudi government publishes and distributes this tafsir among the Hujjaj (pilgrims) visiting the Haramain. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

31-1 This is the miracle of Musa (Moses) ؑ which he received on Mount Tur, after being honored with prophethood. Since it appears by the command and will of Allah, and not by the power of any human being—even if he is a great prophet and a close prophet—therefore, when Musa’s ؑ own staff, upon being thrown to the ground, turned into a moving, slithering, and hissing serpent, Musa ؑ also became afraid. When Allah Ta’ala informed and reassured him, Musa’s ؑ fear was removed, and it became clear that Allah Ta’ala had granted him this miracle as a proof of his truthfulness.
