Tafsir Ahsan al-Bayan is a well-known Quran commentary by Hafiz Salahuddin Yusuf, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. This tafsir explains the meanings of the Quran in accordance with the methodology of the Salaf (early righteous generations), relying on authentic sources and straightforward language. Due to its reliability and adherence to sound Islamic scholarship, the Saudi government publishes and distributes this tafsir among the Hujjaj (pilgrims) visiting the Haramain. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

36-1. That is, do you not see that Allah has blessed me with everything? Then how can your gift add anything to my wealth and riches? This inquiry is rhetorical. That is, it cannot add anything.

36-2. This was said as a reproach, that you take pride in and rejoice over this gift, but as for me, I have no reason to be pleased with it, because, firstly, the world is not my objective. Secondly, Allah has given me what He has not given to anyone else in the entire world. Thirdly, I have also been honored with prophethood.
