Tafsir Ahsan al-Bayan is a well-known Quran commentary by Hafiz Salahuddin Yusuf, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. This tafsir explains the meanings of the Quran in accordance with the methodology of the Salaf (early righteous generations), relying on authentic sources and straightforward language. Due to its reliability and adherence to sound Islamic scholarship, the Saudi government publishes and distributes this tafsir among the Hujjaj (pilgrims) visiting the Haramain. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

15-1. At the beginning of the surah, it was stated that this Quran is taught by Allah. As evidence for this, the brief story of Musa (علیہ السلام) was mentioned, and now the second evidence is this story of Dawud (علیہ السلام) and Sulaiman (علیہ السلام). The incidents of the prophets (علیہم السلام) are proof that Muhammad ﷺ is the true Messenger of Allah. By "knowledge" is meant, in addition to the knowledge of prophethood, the knowledge with which Dawud (علیہ السلام) and Sulaiman (علیہ السلام) were especially favored, such as Dawud (علیہ السلام) being given knowledge of ironworking and Sulaiman (علیہ السلام) being given knowledge of the languages of animals. These two, father and son, were granted much more, but here only knowledge is mentioned, which makes it clear that knowledge is the greatest blessing of Allah.
