Then We revealed to Mûsâ (Moses) (saying): "Strike the sea with your stick." And it parted, and each separate part (of that sea water) became like huge mountain.

Tafsir Ahsan al-Bayan is a well-known Quran commentary by Hafiz Salahuddin Yusuf, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. This tafsir explains the meanings of the Quran in accordance with the methodology of the Salaf (early righteous generations), relying on authentic sources and straightforward language. Due to its reliability and adherence to sound Islamic scholarship, the Saudi government publishes and distributes this tafsir among the Hujjaj (pilgrims) visiting the Haramain. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

63-1. Thus Allah Almighty gave this guidance and indication to strike your staff upon the sea, by which the water on the right side stood to the right and the water on the left side stood to the left, and a path was made between the two. It is said that twelve paths were made according to the twelve tribes, and Allah knows best.

63-2. فرق قطعہ بحر, a part of the sea; طور پہاڑ, mountain. That is, each part of the water stood like a great mountain. This was the occurrence of a miracle from Allah Almighty so that Musa (AS) and his people could be saved from Pharaoh. Without this divine support, salvation from Pharaoh was not possible.
