Tafsir Ahsan al-Bayan is a well-known Quran commentary by Hafiz Salahuddin Yusuf, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. This tafsir explains the meanings of the Quran in accordance with the methodology of the Salaf (early righteous generations), relying on authentic sources and straightforward language. Due to its reliability and adherence to sound Islamic scholarship, the Saudi government publishes and distributes this tafsir among the Hujjaj (pilgrims) visiting the Haramain. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

214-1. The invitation of a prophet is not only for relatives, but for the entire nation, and the Prophet ﷺ came as a guide and leader for the whole of humanity. Inviting close relatives to faith is not contrary to the general invitation, rather it is a part of it or its preferential aspect. Just as Prophet Ibrahim (علیہ السلام) first invited his father Azar to monotheism. After this command, the Prophet ﷺ climbed Mount Safa and called out "یَا صَبَاحَا". This phrase is used when an enemy suddenly attacks, and through it, the nation is warned. Hearing this phrase, people gathered; the Prophet ﷺ mentioned the names of various tribes of Quraysh and said, "Tell me, if I were to say that there is an enemy army behind this mountain about to attack you, would you believe me?" All said, "Yes, certainly we would believe." The Prophet ﷺ said, "Allah has sent me as a warner, I warn you of a severe punishment." Upon this, Abu Lahab said, "May you perish! Did you call us for this?" In response, Surah Tabat was revealed (Sahih Bukhari). The Prophet ﷺ also said to his daughter Fatimah and his aunt Safiyyah, "Make arrangements for your salvation with Allah, I will not be able to help you there."
