أَوَلَمْ يَكُن لَّهُمْ ءَايَةً أَن يَعْلَمَهُۥ عُلَمَـٰٓؤُا۟ بَنِىٓ إِسْرَٰٓءِيلَ ﴿197﴾
Is it not a sign to them that the learned scholars (like ‘Abdullâh bin Salâm رضي الله عنه who embraced Islâm) of the Children of Israel knew it (as true)?
أَوَلَمْ awalam Is it not
يَكُن yakun Is it not
لَّهُمْ lahum to them
ءَايَةً āyatan a sign
أَن an that
يَعْلَمَهُۥ yaʿlamahu know it
عُلَمَـٰٓؤُا۟ ʿulamāu (the) scholars

إِسْرَٰٓءِيلَ is'rāīla (of) Israel

197-1. Because your ﷺ mention and the mention of the Qur'an is present in those books. These disbelievers of Makkah used to refer to the Jews in religious matters. In this regard, it is said that does their knowing and informing not serve as evidence that Muhammad ﷺ is the true Messenger of Allah and this Qur'an is revealed from Allah? Then, after accepting this statement of the Jews, why do they not believe in the Prophet?
