Tafsir Ahsan al-Bayan is a well-known Quran commentary by Hafiz Salahuddin Yusuf, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. This tafsir explains the meanings of the Quran in accordance with the methodology of the Salaf (early righteous generations), relying on authentic sources and straightforward language. Due to its reliability and adherence to sound Islamic scholarship, the Saudi government publishes and distributes this tafsir among the Hujjaj (pilgrims) visiting the Haramain. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

148-1. This is the detail of those blessings with which they were endowed. طلع refers to the sprout of the date palm that emerges for the first time, that is, when it rises. After this, the fruit of the date palm is called بلح, then بسر, then رطب, and after that, تمر. (Aysar al-Tafasir) In gardens, along with other fruits, the fruit of the date palm also appears, but since dates hold great importance among the Arabs, it is mentioned specifically as well. Several other meanings of ھضیم have also been stated, such as delicate and soft, layered, etc.
