إِنِّىٓ أَخَافُ عَلَيْكُمْ عَذَابَ يَوْمٍ عَظِيمٍ ﴿135﴾
"Verily, I fear for you the torment of a Great Day."
إِنِّىٓ innī Indeed, I
أَخَافُ akhāfu [I] fear
عَلَيْكُمْ ʿalaykum for you
عَذَابَ ʿadhāba (the) punishment
يَوْمٍ yawmin (of) a Day
عَظِيمٍۢ ʿaẓīmin Great

1. That is, if you persist in your disbelief and do not show gratitude for the blessings Allah has bestowed upon you, then you will become deserving of Allah’s punishment. This punishment can come in this world as well, and the Hereafter is certainly for punishment and reward. There, it will not be possible to escape from punishment.
