Tafsir Ahsan al-Bayan — Hafiz Salahuddin Yusuf
Tafsir Ahsan al-Bayan is a well-known Quran commentary by Hafiz Salahuddin Yusuf, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. This tafsir explains the meanings of the Quran in accordance with the methodology of the Salaf (early righteous generations), relying on authentic sources and straightforward language. Due to its reliability and adherence to sound Islamic scholarship, the Saudi government publishes and distributes this tafsir among the Hujjaj (pilgrims) visiting the Haramain. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.
124-1. Hud was also called the brother of 'Ad because every prophet was an individual from the same nation to which he was sent, and in this regard, he was considered the brother of that nation. As will be mentioned further, this humanity of the prophets and messengers also became an obstacle for their nations in accepting faith. Their belief was that a prophet should not be a human, but rather superhuman. Even today, people unaware of this established reality insist on portraying the Prophet of Islam, Hazrat Nabi Kareem ﷺ, as superhuman, whereas he too was an individual from the family of Quraysh, to whom he was first sent as a prophet.
