سُوْرَةُ الْفُرْقَانِ
Surah Al-Furqaan (25) — Ayah 61
تَبَارَكَ ٱلَّذِى جَعَلَ فِى ٱلسَّمَآءِ بُرُوجًا وَجَعَلَ فِيهَا سِرَٰجًا وَقَمَرًا مُّنِيرًا ﴿61﴾

Blessed be He Who has placed in the heaven big stars, and has placed therein a great lamp (sun), and a moon giving light.

Tafsir Ahsan al-Bayan — Hafiz Salahuddin Yusuf
Tafsir Ahsan al-Bayan is a well-known Quran commentary by Hafiz Salahuddin Yusuf, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. 61-1 Burooj. Burooj is the plural of burj. In the exegesis of the Salaf, by burooj are meant the great stars. And the coherence of the discourse is clear on this meaning: Blessed is the One who made great stars, the sun, and the moon in the sky. Later exegetes, in accordance with the astronomers, have taken burooj to mean the twelve zodiac signs: Aries, Taurus, Gemini, Cancer, Leo, Virgo, Libra, Scorpio, Sagittarius, Capricorn, Aquarius, and Pisces. These burooj are the stations of the seven major planets, whose names are Mars, Venus, Mercury, Moon, Sun, Jupiter, and Saturn. These planets descend into these burooj as if they are magnificent palaces for them (Aysar al-Tafasir).
