Tafsir Ahsan al-Bayan is a well-known Quran commentary by Hafiz Salahuddin Yusuf, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. This tafsir explains the meanings of the Quran in accordance with the methodology of the Salaf (early righteous generations), relying on authentic sources and straightforward language. Due to its reliability and adherence to sound Islamic scholarship, the Saudi government publishes and distributes this tafsir among the Hujjaj (pilgrims) visiting the Haramain. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

17-1. In the world, besides Allah, those who have been and will be worshipped include inanimate objects (idols made of stone, wood, and other metals), which are non-intelligent, as well as Allah’s righteous servants who are intelligent, such as Hazrat Uzair, Hazrat Masih (peace be upon them), and many other righteous servants. Similarly, angels and jinn are also worshipped. Allah will grant even the non-intelligent inanimate objects the power of perception, understanding, and speech, and He will ask all these objects of worship: Tell Me! Did you command My servants to worship you, or did they go astray by worshipping you of their own accord?
