وَٱلَّذِينَ هُمْ عَلَىٰ صَلَوَٰتِهِمْ يُحَافِظُونَ ﴿9﴾
And those who strictly guard their (five compulsory congregational) Salawât (prayers) (at their fixed stated hours).
وَٱلَّذِينَ wa-alladhīna And those who

عَلَىٰ ʿalā over
صَلَوَٰتِهِمْ ṣalawātihim their prayers
يُحَافِظُونَ yuḥāfiẓūna they guard

9-1. In the end, again the protection of prayers was declared necessary for success, which makes clear the importance and virtue of prayer. But today, for Muslims, like other righteous deeds, even this holds no importance at all anymore. So, to Allah we belong and to Him we shall return.
