Surah Al-Muminoon (23) — Ayah 66

قَدْ كَانَتْ ءَايَـٰتِى تُتْلَىٰ عَلَيْكُمْ فَكُنتُمْ عَلَىٰٓ أَعْقَـٰبِكُمْ تَنكِصُونَ ﴿66﴾
Indeed My Verses used to be recited to you, but you used to turn back on your heels (denying them, and refusing with hatred to listen to them).
قَدْ qad Verily
كَانَتْ kānat were
ءَايَـٰتِى āyātī My Verses
تُتْلَىٰ tut'lā recited
عَلَيْكُمْ ʿalaykum to you
فَكُنتُمْ fakuntum but you used
عَلَىٰٓ ʿalā (to) on
أَعْقَـٰبِكُمْ aʿqābikum your heels
تَنكِصُونَ tankiṣūna turn back
