مَا تَسْبِقُ مِنْ أُمَّةٍ أَجَلَهَا وَمَا يَسْتَـْٔخِرُونَ ﴿43﴾
No nation can advance their term, nor can they delay it.
مَا Not
تَسْبِقُ tasbiqu can precede
مِنْ min any
أُمَّةٍ ummatin nation
أَجَلَهَا ajalahā its term
وَمَا wamā and not
يَسْتَـْٔخِرُونَ yastakhirūna they (can) delay (it)

43-1. That is, all nations, like the people of Nuh and 'Ad, when their time of destruction came, were destroyed and ruined; not a moment was advanced or delayed. As stated (ۭاِذَا جَاۗءَ اَجَلُھُمْ فَلَا يَسْتَاْخِرُوْنَ سَاعَةً وَّلَا يَسْتَقْدِمُوْنَ) 10. Yunus:49)
