So As-Saihah (torment - awful cry) overtook them in truth (with justice), and We made them as rubbish of dead plants. So away with the people who are Zâlimûn (polytheists, wrong-doers, disbelievers in the Oneness of Allâh, disobedient to His Messengers).
فَأَخَذَتْهُمُ fa-akhadhathumu So seized them
ٱلصَّيْحَةُ l-ṣayḥatu the awful cry
بِٱلْحَقِّ bil-ḥaqi in truth
فَجَعَلْنَـٰهُمْ fajaʿalnāhum and We made them
غُثَآءًۭ ۚ ghuthāan (as) rubbish of dead leaves
فَبُعْدًۭا fabuʿ'dan So away
لِّلْقَوْمِ lil'qawmi with the people
ٱلظَّـٰلِمِينَ l-ẓālimīna the wrongdoers

Tafsir Ahsan al-Bayan is a well-known Quran commentary by Hafiz Salahuddin Yusuf, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. This tafsir explains the meanings of the Quran in accordance with the methodology of the Salaf (early righteous generations), relying on authentic sources and straightforward language. Due to its reliability and adherence to sound Islamic scholarship, the Saudi government publishes and distributes this tafsir among the Hujjaj (pilgrims) visiting the Haramain. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

41-1. This scream is said to be the scream of Jibreel ؑ, some say it was just a severe scream, along with which there was also a violent wind. Both together destroyed them in the blink of an eye.

41-2. غُثْآءَ refers to the debris and rubbish that comes with floodwater, in which there are leaves of trees, dry trunks, twigs, and similar things. When the force of the water ends, they dry up and lie useless. This was the condition of those deniers and arrogant ones.
