قَالَ عَمَّا قَلِيلٍ لَّيُصْبِحُنَّ نَـٰدِمِينَ ﴿40﴾
(Allâh) said: "In a little while, they are sure to be regretful."
قَالَ qāla He said
عَمَّا ʿammā After a little while
قَلِيلٍۢ qalīlin After a little while
لَّيُصْبِحُنَّ layuṣ'biḥunna surely they will become
نَـٰدِمِينَ nādimīna regretful

40-1. In عما, the ما is extra, which comes between the genitive, for the emphasis of the shortness of time, just as in (فبما رحمتہ من اللہ) the ما is extra, meaning the punishment is to come very soon, over which they will regret.
