So We revealed to him (saying): "Construct the ship under Our Eyes and under Our Revelation (guidance). Then, when Our Command comes, and water gushes forth from the oven, take on board of each kind two (male and female), and your family, except those thereof against whom the Word has already gone forth. And address Me not in favour of those who have done wrong. Verily, they are to be drowned.

Tafsir Ahsan al-Bayan is a well-known Quran commentary by Hafiz Salahuddin Yusuf, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. This tafsir explains the meanings of the Quran in accordance with the methodology of the Salaf (early righteous generations), relying on authentic sources and straightforward language. Due to its reliability and adherence to sound Islamic scholarship, the Saudi government publishes and distributes this tafsir among the Hujjaj (pilgrims) visiting the Haramain. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

27-1. That is, the command for their destruction comes.
27-2. The footnote on "tannur" in Surah Hud has already explained that the correct view is that this does not refer to the well-known tannur (oven) in which bread is baked, but rather, by "surface of the earth" is meant that the entire earth itself was transformed into a spring. Water gushed forth from beneath the earth like springs. The instruction to Nuh (علیہ السلام) is ongoing: when water gushes forth from the earth.
27-3. That is, from animals, plants, and fruits, take a pair (male and female) of each into the ark so that the lineage of all may remain.
27-4. That is, those whose destruction has been decreed due to their disbelief and rebellion, such as the wife of Nuh (علیہ السلام) and his son.
27-5. That is, when the punishment begins, there is no need to have mercy on any of these wrongdoers such that you start to intercede for anyone. Because the final decision to drown them has already been made.
