Tafsir Ahsan al-Bayan — Hafiz Salahuddin Yusuf
Tafsir Ahsan al-Bayan is a well-known Quran commentary by Hafiz Salahuddin Yusuf, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. This tafsir explains the meanings of the Quran in accordance with the methodology of the Salaf (early righteous generations), relying on authentic sources and straightforward language. Due to its reliability and adherence to sound Islamic scholarship, the Saudi government publishes and distributes this tafsir among the Hujjaj (pilgrims) visiting the Haramain. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.
49. 1. This is being said in response to the demand of the disbelievers and polytheists that my task is not to send punishment; this is Allah's task. Whether He seizes quickly or delays, He acts according to His will and wisdom. The knowledge of this is with Allah alone. Although the original addressees of this address are the people of Makkah, since you have come as a guide and Messenger for the whole of humanity, the address is made with the words "يَاأَيُّهَاالنَّاسُ!" (O mankind!), which includes all those disbelievers and polytheists until the Day of Judgment who will adopt the attitude of the people of Makkah.
