Tafsir Ahsan al-Bayan — Hafiz Salahuddin Yusuf
Tafsir Ahsan al-Bayan is a well-known Quran commentary by Hafiz Salahuddin Yusuf, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. This tafsir explains the meanings of the Quran in accordance with the methodology of the Salaf (early righteous generations), relying on authentic sources and straightforward language. Due to its reliability and adherence to sound Islamic scholarship, the Saudi government publishes and distributes this tafsir among the Hujjaj (pilgrims) visiting the Haramain. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.
68. 1. When Prophet Ibrahim (علیہ السلام) thus completed his argument and made their misguidance and foolishness clear to them in such a way that they were left speechless, since they were deprived of the ability to accept guidance and disbelief and polytheism had darkened their hearts, instead of refraining from polytheism, they became ready to take severe action against Ibrahim (علیہ السلام) and, invoking their deities, began preparations to throw him into the fire. Thus, a huge fire was prepared, and it is said that Ibrahim (علیہ السلام) was thrown into it by means of a catapult (by which large stones are thrown). But Allah commanded the fire to become cool and safe for Ibrahim (علیہ السلام). The scholars say that if Allah had not added "safe" to "cool," its coolness would have been unbearable for Ibrahim (علیہ السلام). In any case, this is a great miracle that, by Allah's will, appeared for Ibrahim (علیہ السلام) in the form of a blazing fire, reaching the sky, turning into a garden of flowers. In this way, Allah saved His servant from the plot of the enemies.
