But if they (disbelievers, idolaters, Jews, Christians, polytheists) turn away (from Islâmic Monotheism) say (to them O Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم): "I give you a notice (of war as) to be known to us all alike. And I know not whether that which you are promised (i.e. the torment or the Day of Resurrection) is near or far."

19. 1. That is, just as I know that you have turned away from my call to monotheism and Islam and have become my enemies, similarly, you should also know that I am your enemy and there is an open war between us.
19. 2. This promise refers to the Day of Judgment, or the promise of the dominance of Islam and the Muslims, or that promise when I will be granted permission by Allah to wage war against you.
