سُوْرَةُ طٰهٰ

Surah Taa-Haa (20) — Ayah 81

كُلُوا۟ مِن طَيِّبَـٰتِ مَا رَزَقْنَـٰكُمْ وَلَا تَطْغَوْا۟ فِيهِ فَيَحِلَّ عَلَيْكُمْ غَضَبِى ۖ وَمَن يَحْلِلْ عَلَيْهِ غَضَبِى فَقَدْ هَوَىٰ ﴿81﴾
(Saying) eat of the Tayyibât (good lawful things) wherewith We have provided you, and commit no transgression or oppression therein, lest My Anger should justly descend on you. And he on whom My Anger descends, he is indeed perished. [Tafsir At-Tabari]
كُلُوا۟ kulū Eat
مِن min of
طَيِّبَـٰتِ ṭayyibāti (the) good things
مَا which
رَزَقْنَـٰكُمْ razaqnākum We have provided you
وَلَا walā and (do) not
تَطْغَوْا۟ taṭghaw transgress
فِيهِ fīhi therein
فَيَحِلَّ fayaḥilla lest should descend
عَلَيْكُمْ ʿalaykum upon you
غَضَبِى ۖ ghaḍabī My Anger
وَمَن waman And whoever
يَحْلِلْ yaḥlil on whom descends
عَلَيْهِ ʿalayhi on whom descends
غَضَبِى ghaḍabī My Anger
فَقَدْ faqad indeed
هَوَىٰ hawā he (has) perished

81. 1. That is, do not transgress towards forbidden and unlawful things by leaving what is lawful and permissible, or do not transgress by denying Allah's blessings, committing ingratitude for those blessings, or by disobedience. The word "طغیان" applies to all these meanings. And some have said that the meaning of "طغیان" is to catch more birds than needed, that is, catch birds according to your need and do not exceed that.
