سُوْرَةُ طٰهٰ

Surah Taa-Haa (20) — Ayah 61

قَالَ لَهُم مُّوسَىٰ وَيْلَكُمْ لَا تَفْتَرُوا۟ عَلَى ٱللَّهِ كَذِبًا فَيُسْحِتَكُم بِعَذَابٍ ۖ وَقَدْ خَابَ مَنِ ٱفْتَرَىٰ ﴿61﴾
Mûsâ (Moses) said to them: "Woe unto you! Invent not a lie against Allâh, lest He should destroy you completely by a torment. And surely, he who invents a lie (against Allâh) will fail miserably."
قَالَ qāla Said
لَهُم lahum to them
مُّوسَىٰ mūsā Musa
وَيْلَكُمْ waylakum Woe to you
لَا (Do) not
تَفْتَرُوا۟ taftarū invent
عَلَى ʿalā against
ٱللَّهِ l-lahi Allah
كَذِبًۭا kadhiban a lie
فَيُسْحِتَكُم fayus'ḥitakum lest He will destroy you
بِعَذَابٍۢ ۖ biʿadhābin with a punishment
وَقَدْ waqad And verily
خَابَ khāba he failed
مَنِ mani who
ٱفْتَرَىٰ if'tarā invented

61. 1 When Pharaoh was encouraging the magicians to compete in the assembly and expressing his intention to reward them with gifts and special closeness, Prophet Musa (Moses) (AS) also admonished them before the competition and warned them of the divine punishment for their current behavior.
