Do you (faithful believers) covet that they will believe in your religion inspite of the fact that a party of them (Jewish rabbis) used to hear the Word of Allâh [the Taurât (Torah)], then they used to change it knowingly after they understood it?

Tafsir Ahsan al-Bayan is a well-known Quran commentary by Hafiz Salahuddin Yusuf, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. This tafsir explains the meanings of the Quran in accordance with the methodology of the Salaf (early righteous generations), relying on authentic sources and straightforward language. Due to its reliability and adherence to sound Islamic scholarship, the Saudi government publishes and distributes this tafsir among the Hujjaj (pilgrims) visiting the Haramain. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

75. 1. Addressing the believers, it is being said about the Jews: Do you hope for their acceptance of faith, even though among their predecessors there was a group that knowingly altered the Divine Word? This is an interrogative of denial, meaning there is absolutely no hope for such people to accept faith. This means that those who, due to worldly interests or partisan biases, do not refrain even from altering the Divine Word, become trapped in such a mire of misguidance that they cannot escape from it. Unfortunately, many scholars and elders of the Ummah of Muhammad have also been guilty of altering the Quran and Hadith. May Allah protect from this crime.
