Tafsir Ahsan al-Bayan is a well-known Quran commentary by Hafiz Salahuddin Yusuf, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. This tafsir explains the meanings of the Quran in accordance with the methodology of the Salaf (early righteous generations), relying on authentic sources and straightforward language. Due to its reliability and adherence to sound Islamic scholarship, the Saudi government publishes and distributes this tafsir among the Hujjaj (pilgrims) visiting the Haramain. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

55. 1. Hazrat Musa (Moses) ؑ took seventy (70) men to Mount Tur for receiving the Torah. When Hazrat Musa ؑ was about to return, they said that unless we see Allah Almighty before us, we are not ready to believe in your word. Upon this, as a reprimand, lightning struck them and they died. Hazrat Musa ؑ became extremely distressed and prayed for their lives, upon which Allah Almighty revived them. The meaning of witnessing the lightning strike is that those upon whom the lightning initially struck were being seen by the latter ones, until all of them passed into the embrace of death.
