سُوْرَةُ البَقَرَةِ
Surah Al-Baqara (2) — Ayah 245
مَّن ذَا ٱلَّذِى يُقْرِضُ ٱللَّهَ قَرْضًا حَسَنًا فَيُضَـٰعِفَهُۥ لَهُۥٓ أَضْعَافًا كَثِيرَةً ۚ وَٱللَّهُ يَقْبِضُ وَيَبْصُۜطُ وَإِلَيْهِ تُرْجَعُونَ ﴿245﴾

Who is he that will lend to Allâh a goodly loan so that He may multiply it to him many times? And it is Allâh that decreases or increases (your provisions), and unto Him you shall return.

245. 1. By "qard hasanah" is meant spending wealth in the way of Allah and in jihad, that is, do not hesitate in sacrificing wealth just as you would sacrifice your life. The expansion and restriction of sustenance are also in Allah's control, and He tests you in both ways—sometimes by decreasing sustenance and sometimes by increasing it. Then, by spending in the way of Allah, there is actually no decrease; Allah increases it many times over—sometimes apparently, sometimes by putting blessings in it in a spiritual and meaningful way. And in the Hereafter, its increase will certainly be astonishing.
