Tafsir Ahsan al-Bayan is a well-known Quran commentary by Hafiz Salahuddin Yusuf, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. This tafsir explains the meanings of the Quran in accordance with the methodology of the Salaf (early righteous generations), relying on authentic sources and straightforward language. Due to its reliability and adherence to sound Islamic scholarship, the Saudi government publishes and distributes this tafsir among the Hujjaj (pilgrims) visiting the Haramain. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

28 a. 1. The people of faith are being told to enter into Islam completely; do not act in such a way that you follow only those matters which suit your interests and desires, while ignoring other commands. Do not try to include the practices of the religion you have left behind into Islam; rather, adopt only Islam in its entirety. This also negates innovations in religion (bid‘ah), and refutes the modern secular mindset which is not ready to fully adopt Islam, but wants to confine religion to worship, i.e., to mosques, and remove religion from politics and the halls of government. In this way, the public is also being made to understand, who prefer customs, traditions, and regional cultures, and are not willing to abandon them, such as the extravagant and Hindu-like rituals of mourning and weddings, and other customs, etc. And it is being said that do not follow in the footsteps of Satan, who presents attractive philosophies for the aforementioned un-Islamic matters, covers evils with a pleasing appearance, and even makes innovations seem like virtues, so that you remain trapped in his snare disguised as the color of the earth.
