Tafsir Ahsan al-Bayan is a well-known Quran commentary by Hafiz Salahuddin Yusuf, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. This tafsir explains the meanings of the Quran in accordance with the methodology of the Salaf (early righteous generations), relying on authentic sources and straightforward language. Due to its reliability and adherence to sound Islamic scholarship, the Saudi government publishes and distributes this tafsir among the Hujjaj (pilgrims) visiting the Haramain. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

1. By "trade" is meant abandoning guidance and choosing misguidance. This is a transaction of total loss. The hypocrites, by donning the cloak of hypocrisy, engaged in this losing trade. But this loss is a loss of the Hereafter; it is not necessary that they become aware of this loss in this world. In fact, through this hypocrisy, the immediate benefits they gained in this world made them very happy, and on this basis, they considered themselves very wise and regarded the Muslims as devoid of understanding and intellect.
