Tafsir Ahsan al-Bayan is a well-known Quran commentary by Hafiz Salahuddin Yusuf, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. This tafsir explains the meanings of the Quran in accordance with the methodology of the Salaf (early righteous generations), relying on authentic sources and straightforward language. Due to its reliability and adherence to sound Islamic scholarship, the Saudi government publishes and distributes this tafsir among the Hujjaj (pilgrims) visiting the Haramain. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

50. 1. That is, apart from prophethood, We granted him many other mercies, such as wealth, more children, and then continuing the chain of prophethood in his lineage for a long time—this was the greatest mercy bestowed upon him. That is why Ibrahim (peace be upon him) is called Abu al-Anbiya (the father of the prophets).

50. 2. By "lisān ṣidq" is meant good praise and a beautiful mention. The word "lisān" is annexed to "ṣidq," and then its attribute of elevation is mentioned, indicating that the beautiful mention of him that remains on the tongues of people is truly deserved by him. Just observe that all followers of other religions, even the polytheists, mention Ibrahim (peace be upon him) and his progeny in very good words and with utmost respect and reverence. This is another reward, after prophethood and children, which he received due to migration in the way of Allah.
