49. 1. Hazrat Yaqub (علیہ السلام) was the son of Hazrat Ishaq (علیہ السلام), that is, the grandson of Hazrat Ibrahim (علیہ السلام). Allah Almighty has mentioned him along with his son and in the same manner as his son. The meaning is that when Ibrahim (علیہ السلام), for the sake of the oneness of Allah, left his father, his home, and his beloved homeland and migrated towards Bayt al-Maqdis, We granted him Ishaq and Yaqub (علیہما السلام) so that their companionship and love would make him forget the pain of separation from his father.
