سُوْرَةُ مَرْيَمَ
Surah Maryam (19) — Ayah 45
يَـٰٓأَبَتِ إِنِّىٓ أَخَافُ أَن يَمَسَّكَ عَذَابٌ مِّنَ ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنِ فَتَكُونَ لِلشَّيْطَـٰنِ وَلِيًّا ﴿45﴾

"O my father! Verily I fear lest a torment from the Most Gracious (Allâh) should overtake you, so that you become a companion of Shaitân (Satan) (in the Hell-fire)." [Tafsir Al-Qurtubî]

45. 1. If you remain upon your polytheism and disbelief and death comes to you in this state, then no one will be able to save you from the punishment of Allah. Or, you may even be afflicted with punishment in this world and, by becoming a companion of Satan, be cast away from the court of Allah forever. Hazrat Ibrahim (علیہ السلام) fully observed the requirements of respect and honor for his father, and with utmost compassion and affection, preached the lesson of monotheism to his father. However, no matter how sweetly and gently the lesson of monotheism is presented, it is always unbearable for a polytheist. Thus, in response to this gentleness and affection, the polytheist father said to his monotheist son with great harshness and bitterness: If you do not desist from turning away from my deities, I will surely stone you.
