ذَٰلِكَ عِيسَى ٱبْنُ مَرْيَمَ ۚ قَوْلَ ٱلْحَقِّ ٱلَّذِى فِيهِ يَمْتَرُونَ ﴿34﴾
Such is ‘Îsâ (Jesus), son of Maryam (Mary). (It is) a statement of truth, about which they doubt (or dispute).
ذَٰلِكَ dhālika That
عِيسَى ʿīsā (was) Isa
ٱبْنُ ub'nu (the) son
مَرْيَمَ ۚ maryama (of) Maryam
قَوْلَ qawla a statement
ٱلْحَقِّ l-ḥaqi (of) truth
ٱلَّذِى alladhī that which
فِيهِ fīhi about it
يَمْتَرُونَ yamtarūna they dispute

34. 1. That is, these are the attributes with which ‘Isa (peace be upon him) was described, and not those attributes which the Christians, having exceeded the limits, made people believe about him, nor as the Jews, by falling short and finding faults, said about him. And this is the truth, in which people unnecessarily doubt.
